That is not a sports score! That is the result of the Senate vote that confirmed Condoleezza Rice as secretary of state. 85 to 13. Barbara Boxer, Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden, John Kerry of Massachusetts, Carl Levin of Michigan, Tom Harkin of Iowa, Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey, Evan Bayh of Indiana, Daniel Akaka of Hawaii and Richard Durbin of Illinois, Sen. Mark Dayton, D-Minn., Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia, Jack Reed of Rhode Island. 13.
Rice won easy confirmation today to be President Bush's new secretary of state, despite strong dissent from a small group of Democrats......
Vocal, not strong! 85 to 13!! Doesn't that say anything to you? 6.5 to 1.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said, ".... I wonder why we are starting this new Congress with a protracted debate about a foregone conclusion," McCain said. Since Rice is qualified for the job, he said, "I can only conclude that we are doing this for no other reason than because of lingering bitterness over the outcome of the election."
What did they do with the "United" part of "States of America?"
Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said he would support the president's choice despite reservations about Rice's performance on Iraq. "She did no more than any other member of the administration, but they all misled," Biden said in a television interview Wednesday morning.
Monday morning quaterbacking and whining about bad play calling. Biden gives such a refreshing analysis from someone of his stature. He's still pissed about George Sr. and Reagan about that little old misunderstanding called the Iran-Contra thingie. Didn't he head that committee?
Wouldn't it be great if this Senate piss and moan minority would get on board and help keep this country great?
BTW>>>Sens. Conrad Burns, R-Mont., and Judd Gregg, R-N.H., did not vote.
Did Senator Boxer start crying again?

So, Frank Lautenberg, one of my two useless senators, voted no. Cadaverous prick.

How come every time I hear those DEMS talk abot how bad it is to lie- I can't help but remember those SAME Dems tripping over themselves to defend a pot smoking, philandering, prevaricating, draft dodger against all of his acts?
