Free At Last, Free At Last, Thank God Almighty...Free At Last!
Yeah...a familiar quote you've heard.
I often went to Gutrumbles and shook my head...whistled, at what I read there. Rob's life has been called a train wreck and from reading his blog, you wouldn't disagree. But really, his life was no more screwed up than allot of others. The difference is that Rob would talk about his...freely...loudly. Couldn't you say he was uninhibited? I knew you could.
At times I felt sorry for him because he wouldn't shut his mouth or just take his hands off the keyboard and take a breath instead of a drink. For someone known for being strong-willed, he rarely showed the strength necessary to better his life. To be fair, how many times can a person keep getting back up?
I finally met Rob in April in Austin. He was quiet and reserved. Now two months later he is gone. By this time, in Savanah, Georgia, Rob will be laid to rest. Those he influenced will be on hand to make sure he has a great send-off.
Yeah...Rob is free at last.
He would have liked this post a lot. Just the right amount of acid.....

You're right in my opinion, about what you said Marcus. He didn't pull many punches when talkin' to us, and that, is a tall order, even for "a tall dog"...

You sound like Martin Luther Coon.

Yeah..bit-o-irony there...thought Rob would have reacted to that.
Two of his favorite things to do I saw was proclaim how non-racist he was, and that he was athiest.
Takes more faith to be an athiest than to believe in god.
