Fishing on Friday
The day off was great! I got to the bay late, but not another soul was there...all mine!
I outfitted the kayak and launched...wind and current were strong. But that's the great thing about kayaking, especially a sit-on-top. It's faster than a canoe and more maneuverable. You're gonna get wet, but you would anyway without it. A kayak will save your legs on a long wade fishing day.
As expected, the fishing was less than cooperative...it was damn uncooperative. I tried, but the fish didn't want it! After about 3 hours of paddling I felt spent....so I made beach. Pulled out the chair, poured a strong one and lit a good one. Cold fried chicken is pretty damn good at a time like that, too!
I listened to the caws and moos of the beach birds and watched the sun go down on a great day!
Some pics are on the next page.

Even a day on the water when the fish are not hungry beats hell out of the best day I ever had at work--except when I was doing some guide work and I didn't really consider that work.

Right on, Marcus. Even a bad day fishing is better than a good day doing pretty much anything else.
Thanks for the report.
