It's Friday on the patio...past couple of days have begun with a light fog at dawn, burning off before 8am and getting pushed away by increasing winds. Temps have been in high 70's to mid 80's, mucho bearablisimo!
So today I'm taking the day off and heading down to the beach. With kayak on top of the 4x4, I'll hit the water and launch around noon or there about. Fishing will be hit & miss today..water temps aren't that steady as of yet. We really need the H2O to hit the 70 degree mark and SSE winds less than 8 mph to see fish active.
I'll have my chair and radio, cigars and fried chicken...of course some femented rye and/or corn squeezin's. The plan is to stay till dark...fishing right up till I can't see. There is something magical about being in the water at dusk. The winds will die...waves will flatten....the sun will slip below the horizon, and hopefully, I'll catch the last fish of the day at that moment.
Sounds great! Good luck.

The flats are spotty here. The wind and tides and moon just never seem to be right. I have caught a lot of undersized reds and a few keeper trout ..no snook but I am a little far north for them although there are some caught here. I am trying to put together an off shore charter but so far none of my fishing buddies seem interested. The price has just about got out of reach for most people and the price of fuel has stopped a lot of private boats from going oyut. But I sure would like at least one more blue water trip to the weed line before I hang up my off shore gear. Boy when I croak somebody will get a good deal at the yard sale.
